QuikStor Express gives you the option to automatically export your database backups during the Overnight Processing.
You can set QuikStor Express to export the database backups to an external drive or a secondary drive on your computer by following the steps below.
-
Connect your secondary drive or external hard drive to your QuikStor Express computer.
- If you use this drive to store any files, media, etc. other than your QuikStor Express backups, make a folder within this drive called "QSX" so that you can keep your backups separate from the other items stored within the drive.
-
Go to your My Computer or My PC to find the device and write down the name of your external/secondary drive.
In the example pictured below, the name assigned to the drive is D:
3. Open QuikStor Express and go to File --->Internet Settings and select the Database Backup tab.
4. Enable the Send Database Backup to Outbox during Overnight
5. Enter the path where you would like QuikStor to generate the database backup.
💡 TIP: The path is the name of the drive followed by a backslash and the name of the folder you created in step 2. If you are only using this device for QuikStor Express backups and thus did not create a folder, then the path is simply the name of the drive.
6. Select OK and you are done.
***The To: and Copy: fields are for emailing, which we would not recommend since the majority of the databases are way over the email attachment limitation.
****QuikStor Express will search for the drive letter during Overnights so please make sure the device is connected during Overnight Processing.
